Sat in an idillic mountain village (Piana degli Albanesi) of Sicily, thirty minutes from the bustling city of Palermo lies a newly constructed house in the traditional, antique part of a mountain village called Piana degli Albanese, for a peaceful, relaxing holiday, also ideal for walking holidays. There are man made walking/cycling paths through the mountains (and pic-nic/BBQ spots), a beautiful lake with stunning scenery and amazing sunsets/runrises - ideal for pic-nics & BBQ's also. The house is situated 5 minutes from the town center where you will find the main street/square near and cathedral - where you will find a local bars, shops etc, I can show you around on your first day.
The house itself can accommodate up to four people, however it would be a little crowed, although it would make your holiday cheaper, as it's the house I am renting, not per person. There are two floors, first floor contains an open plan living room and kitchen, table/breakfast table with five chairs, a double pullout sofa bed and an arm chair, all kitchen pans, plates, glasses, utensils etc to hand.
Upstairs there is a small bathroom, shower, which is provided with towels, shampoo, soaps etc, there are also provide beach towels provided. Then in the bedroom there is a large double bed next to the private terrace doors, in the mornings you can have breakfast on the terrace and watch the mist evaporating from the lake, there is also a washing machine at your disposal and a wardrobe available for your clothes.
As this is my personal house, most of my clothes, belongings etc remain in the house, but there is plenty of room for your luggage etc, however you really don't need to bring much.
All I ask in return for your very inexpensive holiday home is that you please respect my house and tidy up after yourselves.
My name is Angela Patterson and I have lived in Sicily for two and a half years now. I am an artist, graphic designer, but I also teach English to children, therefore I have a fairly flexible timetable, so I can come and collect you and drop you off in the center of Palermo for a day & other places, also drop you at the train station, as there are trains all the time and it's quicker to go by train. Any questions or any special requirements please don't hesitate to ask.
As this is a budget holiday, please don't expect a limousine to pick you up - I own a typical Sicilian dented car, fully insured etc. I don't advise anyone to rent a car here, there are only a few foreigners who a brave enough to drive here - in the city especially.
